What is Harmony Road?

The path of spiritual growth proceeds along a challenging path. Understanding phases that we repeatedly experience can normalize turbulence while providing direction and hope for the future.

Security

As a natural part of our faith development, we begin with defined, simple paradigms that help us make sense of the complex world. This helps us create a sense of identity, purpose, and direction. This is a beautiful and vital phase of our progression. However, life often has a way of showing us that things don’t always fit neatly inside our security paradigm.

Obscurity

It can be a harrowing experience to explore the territory beyond the bounds of security especially when we find both of our feet in obscurity. It can threaten our sense of identity, our relationships, and the emotional safety that we previously enjoyed. Individuals in this space may experience a deep sense of confusion and loss. Though this phase can be frightening, here we develop depth and understanding that we lacked in the security phase.

Harmony

Here the discord between security and obscurity becomes harmonized. We begin to live from a peaceful heart, rather than a mind that demands to have all answers. This mature space is where we can appreciate the value of both security and obscurity. We drop our swords and beat them into plowshares. We learn to appreciate both security and obscurity. We gain the ability to maintain inner peace even when surrounded by outer turbulence. Here we open ourselves to the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.

Our mission…

is to create compassionate settings where those experiencing faith challenges can learn, grow and heal.
